Description
The FD10 dual IR-UV flame detector is a new-type intelligent fire detection equipment. This detector is manufactured with high-performance dual infrared sensing technology and ultraviolet detection technology, as well as infrared sensor equipment with different wavelengths and narrow-band filtering, and ultraviolet flame sensing equipment of the solar-blind band.
Among these three sensors, the infrared sensor and the UV sensor are used to reflect the central wavelength of the flame information in different bands, and the other infrared sensor is used to monitor other infrared radiation in the environment. Combined with the flicker characteristics of the flame, the radiation spectrum with flame characteristics can be identified as a fire alarm by means of operational analysis with a high-speed microprocessor and technical algorithm. The UV flame sensing equipment is able to suppress interference from sunlight in a good manner, achieving a fast response to and accurate identification of the flame signal.
In addition, this detector can be used for either dual infrared detection or single ultraviolet detection, and can also be used for both infrared and ultraviolet detection at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions
What technologies does the FD1020 Dual IR-UV Flame Detector use?
The detector integrates high-performance dual infrared (IR) sensing technology and solar-blind ultraviolet (UV) detection technology, utilizing a 32-bit high-precision microprocessor to execute advanced algorithms for precise fire flame recognition.
What is the maximum detection distance and coverage angle?
It features a maximum detection distance of up to 50 meters (for a standard 0.3m * 0.3m n-heptane flame). The detection coverage angles are 90° for infrared (IR) and 120° for ultraviolet (UV) sensors.
How is the sensitivity of the detector adjusted?
The sensitivity is easily configured using a magnetic rod to switch between 4 different sensitivity levels, which avoids the need to remove the cover cap of the unit on-site.
Is the detector suitable for hazardous industrial environments?
Yes, it features an explosion-proof classification rating of Ex d II C T6 Gb / Ex tD A21 and an IP66 ingress protection rating, making it highly robust and suitable for high-risk industrial facilities.
What output signal options are provided?
The detector outputs a standard 4~20mA analog current signal and features two passive dry-contact relays—one designated for fault signals and one for fire alarm signals.
How does the detector prevent false alarms?
By combining dual IR wavelengths with solar-blind UV sensing and evaluating the specific flicker characteristics of actual fires, the detector effectively filters out environmental light and solar interference to minimize false alarms.
